Dycor Provides Threat Aerosol Security Support at Winter Olympics, G8/G20 Meetings in 2010
2010 was a banner year for significant international events in Canada, including the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and the G8/G20 Leaders Meetings in Toronto.
Dycor operationally deployed with Canada’s multidisciplinary security and emergency response teams to provide active threat aerosol monitoring and sampling at both events, providing efficient and timely sample collection for early warning and analysis of prospective airborne hazards.
Dycor designed and deployed a smart aerosol surveillance sensor network and provided subject matter expertise for interpretation and transmission of key data for the duration of these important events, in both onsite and remote monitoring locations.
Environmental surveys at all venues were conducted, including open air sites, large sports complexes, and urban and critical infrastructure, to optimize placement of monitoring, detection and sampling equipment, which became an integral part of the deployed security infrastructure at these international mass gatherings.
“It was an honor and privilege to be part of the security team responsible for safety monitoring of these events hosted here in Canada,” said CEO Dr. Bob McGhin, “and we look forward to being of service where ever people gather for major international events”.
