Dycor Helps in Haiti

Over a year after the devastating earthquake, cholera outbreak, and Hurricane Tomas, which all struck Haiti, the citizens of that country continue to rebuild their homes, but relief and help are still required.  Working alongside many other nations in supplying medical, maternal and community care is Canada’s Olive Tree Projects, which is primarily focused on maternity and child care.  Dycor had the opportunity to participate with this organization’s efforts by donating an autoclave which is currently in use in a newly expanded maternity centre.

“Dycor has had the privilege of working on a number of high-profile mass gathering public health surveillance projects in the recent past”, said Bob McGhin, Dycor’s CEO.  “It’s nice to be able make a practical difference right at the ground level as well.”

Olive Tree Projects continues to expand its services in Haiti, having started a nourishment program, as well as a micro-enterprise for young people who make and sell handicrafts.  A portion of their proceeds are saved for their education.  To contribute to the Olive Tree Project’s efforts, visit www.olivetreeprojects.com, or contact them directly at info@olivetreeprojects.com.
